Ravi

A santon is a small clay figurine used in the nativity scene in the Christmas crèche in Provence.
In the Provençal nativity scene, besides Jesus and Mary, we welcome all the characters from a rural town in early 1800s Provence.
Near Christmas you can still find Santon markets all around Provence, each artist giving their take on these characters.

The Ravi, directly translated to "overjoyed" or "delighted", is the character of the village idiot. He has no job and nothing to offer, but he is happy to be there, always depicted with his arms raised to the sky as a sign of surprise and joy.
Now That has an infatuation with his blissful simplicity, which lead us to to create our own versions of the Ravi.

Meet the Ravis!
